Oak Park, IL, April 27, 2009 – GreenDriver, Inc. announced today that Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has elected to enroll 2,000 drivers in GreenDriver’s online training and certification program.
In an Earth Day statement released by DNR, they said “We are expecting to train, test, and certify 2,000 of our drivers with expectations to reduce fuel consumption by at least 5%, which equates to about 70,000 gallons of fuel and 600,000 lbs. of CO2 annually.”
“This is a perfect partnership for GreenDriver,” said Dave Dufresne, VP of Product Management, GreenDriver. “Minnesota DNR’s mission is to protect the environment, and by training their drivers, they will be making a significant contribution on their own impact.”
GreenDriver provides a viable solution for commercial and government fleets to reduce their CO2 and fuel spend. It is an online course based on industry best practices and fact-based studies that teaches drivers ways to understand how vehicle maintenance, trip preplanning, and small changes in behavior can directly impact their fuel consumption and CO2 output.
“I am impressed by the depth and quality of information provided by GreenDriver,” said Dave Schiller, Fleet, Safety, and Materials Manager, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. “I expect this training will be well-received by the DNR, and I am confident that this will result in a real reduction of our greenhouse gas emissions.”
